All in one hour:
Handwriting has got a little better of late, I don't know why but the attitude improved.
Anyway, the day we started Getty Dubay Italic at the start of the book it asked the child to do "A quick brown fox....." in his best writing.
I asked him to do it again this afternoon, and then showed the difference. After two weeks the difference is impressive, C could see how well he was doing.
Then J arrived home with a bunch of stuff for C from his teacher, plus a message to say she misses him and is sad she didn't get to say goodbye. There was a christmas ball with his name and the year as a gift and a DVD that they did of his class, it was to the tune of "Forever Young" which is a really nice song and it the DVD made me worry about all the things that he is missing out on with school. I had to keep reminding myself how happy he is now.
J brought home all his stuff too and amongst it was a graduation bear that they made at school for getting classmates signatures. Two boys that have been hassling him all year had scribbled all over it and written silly names around his eyes and ears J said he didn't bother telling the teacher because she wouldn't have done anything. So that reminded me of one of the reasons we left!! The good news is I managed to get most of the writing off the bear, come up with a contingency plan to cover the rest and J will be able to get the other sigs again tomorrow.
