Random outing Photos and Fun Stuff with Friends

OK these walks aren't all Mondays, in fact they are mostly other days,  but they are still walks.
We went to the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Garden  down the road.

It was a really fabulous morning.  We thoroughly enjoyed the gallery where Mia plonked herself down in front of Lin Onus's "Fish" which was on loan from the NGV and proceeded to sketch the fish.  The boys sketched various bits around the gallery while Mia stayed deep in thought in front of Fish.  The gallery lady came and went quite amused by her concentration.
Out in the sculpture garden we enjoyed a lovely meander through the bush with lots of hidden treasures.

We visited Werribee South Beach,  Another beautiful autumnal day at the beach with friends.  Actually I'd like a few less beautiful autumnal day and a few more stinking cold rainy days because our water storages are at an all time low.

Lots of pelicans, fortunately across the water because Mia is terrified of them ever since one bit her at the zoo.
This last lot is from yesterday.  Yet another gorgeous autumnal day (I see a theme emerging)  we hiked with friends to Bushrangers Bay, about 5km return.  On the way there and back we saw a lot of kangaroos in the paddock just beyond, which certainly explains all the road warning signs about them and the rumours of roo hits on that road.  I drove home VERY CAREFULLY as it was dusk, prime time for smacking into a kangaroo.
The bay where we were headed was utterly stunning

When we got there the boys stripped off, in the face of a brisk southerly coming right from Antartica and played in the waves, which were the temperate of Ice I'm sure.   They managed to get soaked to their armpits and by the time we announced it was time to go were turning blue.  Of course we were totally unprepared for such mad children and while i had a change of clothes for Mia, I did not have a change for Connor.  He went home in his raincoat, his shorts which he had fortunately remove and Mias woolen jersey, which was much too small but warm at least.
The girls were a bit more circumspect and managed to stay mostly dry, although they were also chilled to the bone by the time we left.  Next time we will go a little earlier, with towels and a change of clothes and stay a bit longer.  It's a really gorgeous spot.

Well that's me all caught up.
Don't forget to check over at Bean Counting to share all the boring details of our meals, and the excitement of beating Miss Maccy Pants at the frugal food game!
