Connors history book

I've mentioned Connors history book to a few people, so here it is. Perhaps less colourful than a lapbook but much lower stress!

For those who use SOTW2, if you are wondering about the odd order of what we have done, we are using History Odyssey L2 for Jordan and following that order of topics and areas.

Monks and Monasteries. The photo is Connor in his Monks costume I made him out of an old grey blanket.

A page showing narrations (retelling the main points of what we have read) and mapwork.

A page on the Celts, with a printout from a BBC online activity, a narration and the inside and outside of a Celtic Round House.

With the Vikings, we read some books and Connor did narrations, mapwork, researched and drew a picture of viking funerals and did some research on Viking Weapons.

We don't do regular timeline work, so we did a mini timeline on British Kings from 600AD to 1066 and the battle of Hastings.

We spent quite a bit of time on Castles and Knights. We built a castle which is almost finished and I will add a picture when it's done. There is a castle floor plan, a booklet on the process of becoming a knight, a labelled picture of a knight in all his armour, a personalised coat of arms and a Code of Chivalry.

The Crusades, Richard the Lionhearted, John Lackland and the Magna Carta and Robin Hood. The Robin Hood cover is a book cover that Connor made, inside is a book review.
Quite a bit of British history jammed into two small pages.

And this is where we are up to. Marco Polo and the Silk Road.
